The house for this garden is a stylish old Spanish perched on a steep hillside with large oversized brick veneer that is whitewashed. The existing pool was remodeled with deep red Arizona sandstone to blend with the other terracotta elements. The garden is a blending of traditional Mediterranean plants with some more exotic tropical plantings giving the courtyard a lush but cohesive design with the surrounding areas. The use of plant textures and color was especially effective.
